Get Organised, NOT Overwhelmed!
Posted on June 6th, 2011 No commentsAlthough it was a ‘State of Origin’ night, we had a packed room of enthusiastic attendees keen to learn more about how to ‘Get Organised NOT Overwhelmed’!
Our guest speaker Roz Howland, a professional organiser and productivity coach addressed behavioural and structural strategies on how to get more organised.
Her insights were practical and the tips she touched on were things that could be easily implemented by everyone who attended.

On the 30th of April, our very own Laurena got married to Jon Reissman at a beautiful ceremony held in the Admiralty Towers Park alongside the Brisbane River. The formalities of the ceremony were followed by a reception at the Brisbane Marriott Hotel with lots of food, drinks and dancing which continued ‘til the early hours of the morning. After all the excitement a much needed holiday was long overdue & the newlywed couple headed to Melbourne for their honeymoon. Congratulations Laurena & Jon, we wish you all the best for your future together.

Good news is as a result of the recent merger between AXA and AMP you may have received some money. Bad news is the result of this could be a larger tax bill at the end of this financial year. We highly recommend that you set aside approximately 20% of what you have received to cover your tax obligations.

2011 RACQ International Women’s Day Fun Run

Early (very early) on Sunday morning the ladies of A B Accountancy were ready for their 5 km run as part of the RACQ Insurance International Women’s Day Fun Run.
Starting at the South Bank end of Victoria Bridge, running across the bridge, through the Botanical Gardens, across the Goodwill Bridge and finally finishing at the Wheel of Brisbane at South Bank.

Clients support a good cause.
Posted on February 21st, 2011 No commentsA B Accountancy has been a member of the South East Brisbane Chamber of Commerce (SEBCC) for a number of years so when it came to finding raffle prizes for the next South East Brisbane Chamber of Commerce ‘Business at Sunrise’ event, Laurena, our Business Manager (who also happens to be the treasurer of SEBCC), was on the phone to gather raffle prizes from our clients who were keen to donate a prize for a good cause.
The proceeds from the raffle go towards their charity of the year. This year the South East Brisbane Chamber of Commerce along with Foodbank, have chosen to support the ‘High School Chaplaincy Program’ with a focus on providing breakfast to feed children who are sent to school without any.

This year the team from A B Accountancy will be among the 8500 women that are expected to take part in the 2011 RACQ International Women’s Day Fun Run to support ‘Chicks in Pink’ for the amazing work that they do for breast cancer patients.
Last year, Cate from our team was diagnosed with breast cancer which came as a shock and wakeup call to all of us. We are pleased to report that Cate is on her way to recovery and we are all swapping calculators for drink bottles on Sunday, 6th of March to take part in the 2011 RACQ International Women’s Day Fun Run to support ‘Chicks in Pink’.
